The fedora hat is a fashion accessory with a lot of character. It's introduction was made famous in the 1882 French play named Fedora and began as a female fashion accessory for middle and upper class women. Fedoras quickly transitioned to a fashion and functional accessory in the early 20th century for men. In the 1920's and 1930's during the prohibition era, the fedora became a staple for gangsters like Al Capone and the detectives who chased him. This stylish piece of headwear continued it's popularity in the 1940's and 1950's by the entertainment industry and that trend continues today. From Frank Sinatra and Humphrey Bogart to Justin Timberlake and of course the men of Mad Men, the fedora style of hat continues to be a fashion icon. It's also making a comeback as a women's fashion accessory. So many celebrities continue to make this hat the one to be photographed in and is a popular hat with our hipster customers. Younger men have now discovered fedora hats for that gangster hat look from the hats of gangsters from an era past.
